Arrested for Hydroponic Marijuana Farm in Bali
DENPASAR, Bali – Police have
dismantled a hydroponic marijuana farm in Bali, arresting two foreign nationals
who turned a rented house in North Denpasar into a cannabis plantation. The
suspects, NR (31) from the Netherlands and KV (33) from Russia, were caught
outside the residence during a raid on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
Acting on tips from residents,
investigators found the property had been converted into a sophisticated indoor
farm. Inside, officers discovered areas for seeding and growing cannabis
equipped with irrigation systems, cooling units, temperature regulators, grow
lights, and CCTV.
Dozens of cannabis plants,
hundreds of seed bags, hydroponic tools, and weighing scales were seized. The
foreigners admitted they had obtained the seeds from a man identified only as
“C” since May 2025, though no harvest had taken place yet. Police are now
tracking down the supplier and broader network.
Bali Police Narcotics Chief
Commissioner Radiant said that “both suspects face charges under Indonesia’s
Narcotics Law No. 35/2009, with penalties of 5–20 years in prison, life
sentences, and fines up to Rp8 billion.”
Authorities stressed that the
discovery of the hydroponic marijuana farm in Bali shows how drug offenders are
using advanced techniques to evade detection. Police urged the public to remain
vigilant and report suspicious activities, pledging to protect informants’
identities and intensify their crackdown on narcotics across the island.

Erupts in Jakarta Over DPR Salary Increase
JAKARTA, August 15, 2025 –
Thousands of demonstrators filled the streets surrounding the House of
Representatives (DPR) building in Senayan, Jakarta, to protest against the
government’s decision to increase the salaries and allowances of DPR members.
The protest, which began early in the morning, disrupted traffic and drew
widespread public attention across Indonesia.
Protesters from various groups,
including university students, labor unions, and anti-corruption activists,
voiced their anger over what they described as “insensitive and unjust”
policy-making amid rising living costs. Many carried posters reading “People
Struggle, Politicians Prosper” and “Use the Budget for the People, Not
the Elites.”
The demonstrators argued that the salary hike showed the DPR’s lack of empathy
toward citizens still struggling with inflation, job scarcity, and education
costs. They also criticized the decision-making process, claiming it was
carried out without sufficient public consultation or transparency.
Authorities deployed more than 2,000 police officers to secure the area and
prevent potential clashes. Despite some minor tensions between protesters and
police, the demonstration remained largely peaceful, ending in the late
afternoon.
Jakarta Police spokesperson
Commissioner Rina Prasetyo confirmed that the protest ran safely under strict
supervision. She emphasized that expressing opinions in public is a
constitutional right as long as it remains orderly. Meanwhile, a protest
coordinator, Aditya Rahman from the People’s Voice Alliance, stated that the
rally symbolized citizens’ disappointment with the government’s priorities. “We
demand the DPR revoke the salary increase and focus on addressing the people’s
economic hardships,” he said.

Budi and Rina liked each other. Ayu struggled with jealousy and doubt, not
knowing if Budi still cared about her.Ayu felt heartbroken and confused. Ayu
decided to be brave and talk honestly with Budi about her feelings before
losing him as a friend forever.
"Budi,
I’ve noticed you’ve been spending a lot of time with Rina lately. Am I... am I
no longer important to you?" Ayu deeply asked. "But it feels like
you’re drifting away. People are talking, and I don’t know what to believe
anymore. It hurts." After some time apart to think, Budi approached Ayu to
apologize sincerely. Ayu forgave Budi, and they promised to communicate better.
Their relationship grew stronger, teaching them about trust, emotions, and
maturity.

Text 2. Happiness Over Grades
Mira, a hardworking single mother,
always tried her best to support her son, Ardan, who had just entered his first
year of senior high school. Ardan was a bright but quiet teenager who loved
drawing and dreamed of becoming an illustrator. Every evening, Mira would
prepare dinner while Ardan worked on his school assignments at the kitchen
table. Although busy, Mira always reminded him how proud she was of his
creativity and dedication.
The semester progressed, Ardan’s grades
suddenly dropped, and he became distant. He often returned home looking tired
and frustrated. Mira grew worried but Ardan refused to talk, insisting he was
“fine.” Shortly after, Mira discovered through his teacher that Ardan had been
overwhelmed by pressure to excel in mathematics and science—subjects he
struggled with but felt expected to master. Ardan feared disappointing his
mother, believing she expected him to pursue a more “stable” career than art.
One evening, Mira gently sat beside
Ardan and encouraged him to share what he was feeling. Ardan finally broke down
and admitted his fears. Instead of being upset, Mira hugged him and assured him
that his happiness mattered more than grades or expectations. She promised to
support his artistic dreams and help him manage his studies without pressure.
Feeling relieved, Ardan regained his motivation, balanced his schoolwork, and
continued improving his art. Their bond grew stronger through honesty, understanding,
and unconditional love.
