Analytical & Hortatory Exposition (Text Example)
A. Song Lyrics
Too Much Screen Time
[Verse 1]
We spend our time on phones all day,
Watching, scrolling, games to play,
It feels fun but is it right?
We use our screens from day to night.
[Chorus]
Too much screen time is not good,
We should change it like we should,
Find a balance, make it right,
Use our time with care and light.
[Verse 2]
We feel tired, we lose our sleep,
Too many hours that we keep,
We can’t focus, grades go down,
Sometimes we don’t talk around.
We feel lonely, not the same,
Always stuck inside the game,
Health is weak, eyes feel pain,
Too much screen is not a gain.
[Bridge]
Let’s reduce our screen time now,
We can change, we all know how,
Read a book or go outside,
Talk to friends, enjoy the ride.
[Chorus]
Too much screen time is not good,
We should change it like we should,
Find a balance, make it right,
Use our time with care and light.
[Outro]
Use your time in a better way,
Live your life, don’t just stay.
B. READING ANALYSIS
ANALYTICAL EXPOSITION
The Danger of Too Much Screen Time for Students
Thesis:
In this digital age, most students spend too much time on their smartphones.
Smartphones have changed the daily routines of the younger generation. We often
spend hours scrolling and playing games from day to night. While it is
entertaining, we must realize that excessive screen time brings negative
effects on our physical health, our focus at school, and our social lives.
Arguments:
Firstly, the physical effects of using too much
digital technology are serious. Constant exposure to blue light, especially
late at night, disrupts our natural sleep cycle. As a result, students often
suffer from lack of sleep and tired eyes, which makes them feel weak and less
healthy.
Moreover, an obsession with digital screens
directly ruins academic focus. Social media and gaming are designed to be
addictive, creating constant distractions for students. This makes it very
difficult for them to focus on their studies. When their energy is wasted on
digital screens, their school performance will eventually drop.
Furthermore, the paradox of being "connected" online often leads to social loneliness. Even though students are virtually connected, many of them feel "stuck inside the game" and lose the ability to talk face-to-face. Relying only on digital chat creates a feeling of isolation, because online likes can never replace the deep emotional connection with family and friends.
Reiteration
In conclusion, the evidence above proves that
uncontrolled screen time is a harmful habit. It is clear that excessive digital
habits lead to physical tiredness, academic failure, and social problems.
Therefore, the negative impact of digital addiction is a real issue that we
must all recognize.

Recommendation:
In light of these facts, it is important that students should reduce their daily screen time to take back control of their lives. I strongly suggest that we should prioritize our health and real human connections over digital distractions. Therefore, let’s spend more time on outdoor activities, reading, and talking to each other to have a more balanced and meaningful life.
